Get to Know Alpha O: Morgan Edwards

Get to know Alpha O with Morgan Edwards! Morgan is a senior from Trussville, studying political science. She was nominated by her friend, Julia Shelley, who said, "Morgan is the type of friend who will ask you the hard questions and love you no matter your answer. She will drop absolutely everything to help you, and she will do so with such joy and a smile on her face. I am incredibly thankful to AOII for giving me a friend like her!"

What's your favorite AOII memory?

"My favorite AOII memory is probably the Atlanta Braves social we went to this year. It was just a sweet night with some of my best friends getting to be ridiculous and funny, while watching the Braves win in their brand new stadium!!"

What’s your favorite thing you’re involved in, besides AOII?

"For the past two years, I have had the incredible opportunity to work as an athletic recruiter for the Auburn football team. Through this organization, I have gotten to show my love of Auburn to incoming football recruits and watch them fall in love with Auburn and eventually commit to play here. Getting to see the players that you had a part in getting to Auburn running through Tigerwalk before the game, scoring a touchdown, or giving you a hug after a long game will always be one of my most treasured memories from Auburn!!"

Describe your ideal day.

"Sleeping in, waking up to brunch made by my wonderful roomies (S/o to Jessica Stevens), spending time in the Word, getting to watch football with Julia Shelley, eating lunch/drinking Toomer’s on Samford with Claire Langford, and ending the night watching a rom com with my best friends."

Tell us about your trip to Ecuador this past summer.

"This past summer I had the incredible blessing of being able to work as an intern in an orphanage called the "Happiness Foundation" in Quito, Ecuador for two months. I was mostly the liaison between the North American church teams and the orphanage (particularly the 90 kids living there). Through this, I learned a ton about the culture, the language, and how to love kids who were different in almost every way from me but loved me so well. I absolutely loved being able to see how adoption and orphan care are two things that are so close to the Lord’s heart. Earthly adoption is a beautiful picture of our adoption through the blood of Jesus Christ into an eternal, heavenly home with our Father. Getting to love on these sweet kiddos was a true treasure!!"

"AOII will always be incredibly special to me. It introduced me to some of my best friends, girls who would disciple me, and girls I would get the privilege of pouring into. Those friendships are incredibly meaningful to me and will last forever."
