While our favorite memories are typically spent outside the classroom, we recognize the importance that occurs within. In AOII, we strive for academic excellence and push each other to get there. Whether it's splitting a McDonald's cookie tote to take to RBD, late nights spent in the chapter room, or sending encouraging notes (sometimes sticky notes covering the apartment of a sister with a big test coming up), our sisters are our biggest accountability partners and cheerleaders. This spring, we were thrilled to see our hard work pay off being recognized as #1 in grades out of all Greek life organizations!!!
Our VP of Academics, Grace Coefield, helps ensure we stay motivated, encouraging us and giving us tips and tools to reach our full potential. She even rewards girls for strong semesters with pizza parties, goody bags, and "smarty panda" cut-outs to proudly display in the room. From knowing how to excel in her own academic journey, being accepted into pharmacy school this year as a sophomore, she applies what helps her to all of us.
When asked about the challenging role of motivating 270 girls to hit the books, she said, "I love being VP of Academics. The best part is getting to encourage and support our girls. It's awesome to reward people when they've excelled academically, but it's also special to get to stand with and be there for girls who are struggling academically. I think this highlights the encouraging nature that's so important to sisterhood. Encouragement has also been the key to our success academically."
We're so proud of everyone for their hard work this semester!!! A special congratulations to all our girls accepted into honor societies at callouts and those accepted into their majors or designated schools this year:
